THE
New American Dream Interview

IAN WOODS lives in Barrie, Ontario.

He is a Canadian publisher and political activist, editor of Global Outlook, an international magazine aimed at uniting the worldwide anti-globalization and anti-war movements.

____________
The New American Dream Trivia Question:

To win a round button that says, "Bush Is Lying About What He Knew," be the first one to correctly answer the following.

Ian Woods would rather be ....

a. Shuffling off to Buffalo
b. Checking Karl Rove into the boards
c. Fishing for bullheads in Iowa
d. Meeting Karl Rove in the alley behind Doc Malone's
e. Anything to be on the cast of The Red Green Show
f. Interviewing Dick Cheney live from his protective custody cell at Lewisburg Federal Penitentiary

____________

NAD: Ian, hello, thank you for taking the time for this.

Where did you grow up?
IAN WOODS:
Toronto

NAD: What was the name of your high school?
IAN WOODS:
Upper Canada College

NAD: What was the school mascot name?
IAN WOODS:
The Blue Machine

NAD: What was on the list of activities under your senior picture in the yearbook?
IAN WOODS:
Film, fhotography, football and long distance running.

NAD: What did you start out wanting to be?
IAN WOODS:
A football coach

Is there still time?
Yes, they are always looking for better football coaches … at all levels.

NAD: How did you get into magazine publishing?
IAN WOODS:
It seemed to be the only way to get the truth out there.

I started with Monetary Reform Magazine in 1996 and it grew into Global Outlook in 2002.

NAD: How do you afford to be hard copy, print, color, all that?
IAN WOODS:It started off as just a photocopied 81/2 x 11 newsletter of twenty-four pages and grew from there.

I never tried to get advertisers, as I didn’t want to be influenced by their hidden agendas.

So I picked up products and services which were compatible with our editorial message and sold them to our readers as well as subscriptions.

But obviously that wasn’t enough, so I kept on asking for donations and that is basically what kept us growing and going.

NAD: It must be fun, all in all?
IAN WOODS:It has been, yes. But frustrating too.

We deal with a lot of volunteers and their timetable is quite a bit different than ours, so meeting all deadlines is next to impossible.

NAD: Why so much interest in 9/11, an American thing?
IAN WOODS:
We, here in Canada, are so close to you guys living in the US that it was quite natural for us to want to help in any way we could.

Plus when I saw such a big lie or huge hoax, being pulled off over so many people it made me want to do something about it.

Deep down inside, I knew that 9/11 would affect everyone worldwide.

And it has.

Well, you are much closer to New York, after all, I guess than the majority of the United States, is that part of it? Not really.

NAD: Would you like to choose one of these to answer, elaborate on?

We don't ask this to make fun. We ask because we really seek the answers.

Are UFOs real?
Did we land on the moon in 1968?
Was Paul Wellstone's death an accident?
The Oklahoma City bombing? Wasn't that just another U.S. government terrorist exercise? Or not.
Waco. We burned kids, right? You can see flames shooting out of the tanks. Or not.
Is Bigfoot real?
Is there a God?

Did Bush knock down the towers?

Bush was involved, for sure.

How much he knew is debatable.

Cheney was deeply involved.

Many of us in the 9/11 Truth movement would indict him first.

But these two and the rest of the Bush administration are merely puppets on strings, strings being pulled by the secret government composed of psychopathic neo-cons.

... What makes you think that?

By just sitting there in the classroom for eight or nine minutes after he’d been told that the second tower had been hit and that “America was under attack,” was a dead giveaway.

I think the designers of the plot wanted to give the so-called hijackers time to hit their targets so that Bush could be blamed for reacting too slowly.

*Does Canada have its own such mysteries?
I can’t think of any except one:

WHY would Canadians want to privatize our healthcare system when it is one of the best models in the world. (Just ask Ralph Nadar about it!)
And yet many of our politicians seem keen on privatizing it.

NAD: Do you have hope in Obama?
IAN WOODS:
No.

He’s another puppet on a string surrounding himself with Clinton “retreads.”

NAD: What happened to Kucinich, Nader, McKinney, Paul — and why did they not have a chance?
IAN WOODS:
I like what Greg Palast (and I’m sure others have) said: America has the best democracy money can buy.

Kucinich, Nader, McKinney, Paul just didn’t have enough money to buy the media coverage they needed to make it.

NAD: Who decided our candidates would be Obama and McCain anyway?

IAN WOODS:
The secret or invisible government.

__________

NAD: What is one thing Americans just don't get about Canada?

IAN WOODS:
Thanks for asking.

We are often accused of being socialists that live in a welfare state.

When you look at what we do have, you can see that really that is an insult to one’s intelligence.

The main difference is that we have universal health care.

It’s the envy of people right around the world including the majority of Americans.

So we pay a little more in income tax, but at least no one goes bankrupt trying to pay a medical bill.

We take care of each other. What’s the matter with that? Is it not a human attribute?

Or should we follow Darwin’s principles and resort to survival of the fittest and let the poor bastards who can’t afford it to die in the streets.

(Have a look at Michael Moore’s film, SICKO, if you don’t know what I mean.)

Whether or not we are “socialists,”, depends on your definition.

Myself, I prefer to think of us as “humanitarians” with big hearts.

NAD: Please tell us more about yourself, the things you have done, what you would like to do, what you did today. What do you eat, what do you drive, what do you drink.

IAN WOODS:
Today, I’m working on the final print edition of Global Outlook.

It’s been seven years since we began publishing.

Our mandate has been to try to put George W. Bush and company behind bars while he’s still in office.

Issue 13 will be the final word we have to say on the matter.

NAD: What did you absolutely have to get done by noon today?

IAN WOODS:
This interview, so I can get on with Issue 13.

NAD: How about by Christmas 2009?

IAN WOODS:
Be fully engaged in my next career, whatever that may be.

NAD: Is there any difference between American mainstream media and Tass, Pravda, in the days of the Soviet Union. How about the Canadian media?

IAN WOODS:
The only difference between the media here (in Canada and the US) and in the former Soviet Union is that the Soviets knew that Pravda was complete propaganda BS and as a result learned how to read between the lines.

Here, I’d say 90 percent of us don’t even realize we are being brainwashed every day, every hour, every minute with new world order propaganda.

NAD: What else would you like to add? What else should we have asked?

IAN WOODS:
The crux of the crux of the problem is our corrupt political decision-making process which we call “representative democracy.”

May I suggest that those who want to solve the majority of all the problems we face as a human race, take a close look at the Swiss system of direct democracy.

I’ve written an article about it on our website (www.GlobalOutlook.ca).

It’s called “Direct Democracy – An Idea Whose Time Has Come.”

I welcome any feedback to this great idea. Send your comments to: editor@GlobalOutlook.ca.

Thank you, Mike, for this opportunity to share my thoughts with you and your readers. Good luck everyone!

I was raised on Dr. Dobson, and have just sent him a letter requesting his assistance to help me stop loosing faith in the Christian Church. My Mom respects Dr. Dobson as much or more than any other Christian leader, and she is interested to see his response. I only started learning the truth about the 9/11 attacks last fall. It took me an entire year to convince my own parents to listen to me, and begin reviewing the evidence for themselves. Now that they have thoroughly and objectively taken a fresh look into all the available evidence, they too are now aware of how badly we have been deceived. They now fully support my mission to find out what really happened to 2,993 of our fellow countrymen that fateful September morning. My mom is very interested to see if/how Dr. Dobson will respond. Please read my open letter to Dr. Dobson and share your thoughts at.........

Does Christ's Church really stand for TRUTH & JUSTICE? That is the question!
